August was a busy month for connecting with our community. We ventured into the woods, traveled all the way to Vancouver, BC, and then zipped across Canada to Toronto. Here’s a look back at some of the amazing adventures we had with our creative community!

First Stop: Pickathon

  • Location: Happy Valley, OR, USA
  • Dates: August 1-3, 2025

For our second year at Pickathon, the corporate community engagement team packed up their bags, laced up their hiking boots, and took to the woods to celebrate art, music, and community with our partners at the Creative Neighborhoods Non-profit.

Pickathon was also the first opportunity we had to take the new Wacom MovinkPad 11 out into the wild for folks to test and try. It was a smash. The ease of use and hyper-portability made it the perfect fit for this fun outdoor weekend event.

Next Up: SIGGRAPH

  • Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada
  • Dates: August 10-14, 2025
SIGGRAPH 1

SIGGRAPH 2025 brought the team all the way to the bustling seaport city of Vancouver, BC, Canada. In addition to supporting a long list of industry partners (e.g. Maxon, Blender, Houdini, and more), the team also supported the SIGGRAPH Student Volunteer group.

The SIGGRAPH Student Volunteer group is comprised of roughly 250 international design and digital media university-level students. This group was not only a joy to work with, but also extremely talented. Wacom stepped in as a main sponsor for the group and hosted a pre-SIGGRAPH breakfast on the Sunday prior to the event opening. The students were also able to hear from professional artist Sarajean Chung. They learned about her creative journey and gain some practical tips and techniques she uses for her illustrations. They also learned about all the latest and greatest in Wacom products from Megan Davis, Senior Manager of Brand Experience at Wacom.

Throughout the weekend, and during their breaks, the students contributed to a community canvas – thanks to our partners at Magma! Once the exhibitor doors opened, it was all hands on deck. Throughout the event at Wacom’s booth, we got into the details on the newest line of Wacom Cintiq pen displays as well as the MovinkPad 11. We also had the opportunity to showcase Wacom Bridge.

And with that, the show wrapped, and the team was off to Toronto.

Last Stop For August: Fan Expo Toronto

  • Location: Toronto, ON, Canada
  • Dates: August 21-24, 2025
Fan Expo Toronto Recap image

FanExpo Toronto invites upwards of 160k fans, creative enthusiasts, cosplayers and the like into one space over the course of four days. Energy was high and the traffic was non-stop. Thanks to our partnership with Graphixly and Clip Studio Paint, we hosted a roster of talented artists in booth, all showcasing their creative process and illustrative styles.

The showstopper of the month was the freshly launched MovinkPad 11. Visitors to the booth were impressed with the Anti-glare and Anti-reflection screen and the classic pen on paper you feel when drawing on the tablet.

Shout out to the onsite team for making sure the booth and our hardware was up and running for all the amazing creators that stopped by!
